Genetic Health Testing 101

Anti-aging health coaching is all about improving your lifestyle to reduce the risks of age-related chronic diseases — like heart disease, cancer, dementia and Alzheimer’s.

But how do you know what diseases YOU need to prevent?

Easy. Do genetic health testing.

I did.

The good news...I’m not genetically predisposed to ovarian or breast cancer or Parkinson’s, dementia or Alzheimer’s.

The bad news...I have some pretty serious predispositions to cardiac disease and macular degeneration (which insidiously steals your sight).

At least now I know what to battle BEFORE it sneaks up on me.

You can do it, too. A saliva test is all it takes.

It’s a super-simple 2-step process.

First step: Order the 23andMe “Health & Ancestry Report” kit for $199 and send in your saliva sample. https://refer.23andme.com/s/y772p (affiliate link)

Second step: When results are ready, download the “raw data” and send it to Promethease for a detailed interpretation and associated published reports, usually $12. https://promethease.com

Both sites encourage you to discuss results with a physician and clearly state that genetics play only a small part in the true risk for disease development.

Why should you want to know your genetic predispositions?

So you and your physician can test, treat and monitor...

...and you and your health coach can craft a highly-targeted lifestyle plan to effectively reduce those risks.
